What this one does

Both of you submit your account of the same conflict and both agree to share. What comes back is a neutral summary: where your versions agree, where they genuinely differ, the needs each of you expressed, and suggested wording for the conversation you still need to have.

What it will not do

It does not decide who was right, and it will refuse to. It is also not suitable where there is any question of safety.

It also will not diagnose either of you, will not name a condition, and will not cite research, because there is no research behind it to cite. It is a structure for a conversation.

How it actually works

  1. You both get asked the same things

Each of you signs in to your own account and works through it alone. If you have not linked up yet, you send one invitation link and that is the last bit of admin.

  2. Neither of you can see the other's answers

Not while you are answering, and not after you finish if your partner has not. There is no partial reveal and no progress peek beyond whether they have finished.

  3. You both say yes, separately

When you have both completed it, each of you is asked whether you want the comparison shown. Both answers have to be yes. One yes does nothing.

  4. The two accounts are laid out side by side, free

This part costs nothing and is the honest core of the tool: your two versions, in full, next to each other, with no commentary from us.

  5. The written report is the optional paid part

If you want a neutral read on top — where you agree, where you genuinely differ, what each of you was asking for — that is the thing you pay for, once, and it is generated only when you ask for it.

  6. Either of you can pull the plug

Withdraw your consent and the comparison stops being shown to both of you. You can delete the whole thing, and deletion means deletion.

The order matters and is enforced on our servers: until you have both finished and both said yes, neither of you can see the other's answers — not in the page, not in the network response, not by refreshing. Either of you can withdraw at any point, and the comparison stops being shown.
A language model writes the interpretation here. Before anything is sent, names, email addresses, phone numbers and links are stripped out of what you wrote, so the model receives the shape of the situation and not the people in it. It never produces a number or a score.

You will both need about 12 minutes.

The written report is the paid part. Everything you submit, and the plain side-by-side view of both accounts, stays free.

This is not therapy, and it is not safe to use as leverage.

Between Us is not counselling or a clinical assessment, and it does not know your situation. If you are frightened of your partner, or if you are being pressured into using something like this, please stop and look at these resources instead.
